Following the advice of his dying father, Hal dates only women who are physically beautiful. One day, however, he runs into self-help guru Tony Robbins, who hypnotizes him into recognizing only the inner beauty of women. Hal thereafter meets Rosemary, a largely obese woman whom only he can see as a vision of loveliness. But will their relationship survive when Hal's equally shallow friend undoes the hypnosis? --IMDb

Poor Hal. He has such high physical standards for women, that he can't find the perfect one. He gets stuck in an elevator, and Tony Robbins just happens to be stuck with him. He hypnotizes him into seeing the true beauty in women, so when Hal leaves, he sees what looks to be a drop-dead gorgeous blonde... however, she's actually an extremely obese lardass. Since Hal is only seeing the inner beauty, he doesn't realize this. Some great comedic moments happen as a result of his blindness.

This was a pretty decent flick.... some nice laughs here and there, and Jack Black / Jason Alexander really made a great team... but it just got kinda boring in spots. I knew going in that it would be end up being a love movie, but didn't expect it to turn into a full-out LOVE MOVIE for the vast majority of the running time. But alas, it was a pretty decent story throughout, and definitely had some nice laughs in parts... It was definitely worth the $5 I paid for it.

Jack Black does great in his role, as usual (from what I've seen). He's great at pulling some classic lines and moments from what would otherwise be just another drab scene. Jason Alexander is also great here; I was always a fan of him on Seinfeld, but sheesh, he easily topped his best performances from that show in this movie. Definite thumbs up on all that.

6/10; suppose this would be a good movie to take your woman to see, but not the beginning-to-end comedy that I was expecting.

I went and saw this in the theater... and was down right pissed I paid to see this. This film is completely lame.

Average, and a disappointment for both the Farrelly brothers and Jack Black.

This was the beginning of the end for the Farrelly Brothers, plain and simple. You could start to see it with "Me, Myself & Irene", but this one just sealed the deal. I think they used all the decent humor they had with their first three films. Pitty -- I always enjoyed their flicks before this one. Jack Black is woefully miscast, the premise is ridiculous, and they have a couple moments where you don't know whether to laugh or cry. 1/10.

Ouch.

Well, I cannot stand "Me, Myself & Irene" but this I really like; saw it on FX for about the seventh time (they show it every damn month or so).
Jack Black is no doubt a great comedic actor and he adds some real nice flavor to this that I just can't seem to not laugh or smile at whenever I view it.
8/10

Hilarious movie. The first time I watched it I smoked some amazing pot and was so completely stoned I really got into it, you know? This movie made me cry! It was funny AND sad. 8/10 as well
