An army unit on patrol in Vietnam is ambushed and most of the unit is killed. The survivors are given leave to return Stateside and see their families. They decide to visit one of their buddies who had been wounded in the ambush. When they arrive in his town, they run up against a killer cult led by a murderous psychopath. --IMDb

Stryker is in the Vietnam War, and as a result of an inexperienced general / boss / whatever, gets shot in the leg and honorably discharged. He goes back to his small town, tries to start things up with his old girlfriend, and things are just smooth all around. His army buddies are on leave from the Army deal, and decide to pay ol' Stryker a visit. Beers are to be had, good times by all, until Stryker's dog comes up missing. Upon searching through the woods to find it, they stumble upon a cult that is killing off some local campers. This will not do with our Army boys, so they decide to fight back.

Very cool movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some little tidbits in here that were kinda funny, whether intentional or not.... for example, ripping the fight sound effects straight from Double Dragon (the game) was hilarious. But these little things were just that, little.... didn't hurt the movie at all. It does get a wee bit boring in the beginning, when Stryker first comes back to town, but it quickly picks up later on.

The black guy on the cover there, has one of the coolest kills I have ever seen in a flick. He picks a guy up in a bearhug deal, puts one hand on the guys lower back, other hand on his throat, and just snaps him backwards. Very nice. Speaking of deaths, loads of it here. Those four army guys pretty much kill an entire cult in the last 30 minutes, one by one. Nice gore and such was to be had, in quite a few different execution methods. Most of the cast is average in their acting abilities, nothing really mentionable, but nothing too bad; however, Sam Raimi, the cult leader, is great in an over-the-top sort of way. Very entertaining.

Definitely a recommended flick, I'd say 8/10.
