Browsing the internet about any information regarding Prince of Swine turns up a lot of interesting reads. This movie seems to currently be regarded as a extremely feminist film, with "horrible sex scenes" and all sorts of horrible anti-woman imagery. After seeing all of this, it was a no-brainer to take a look at this film, just to see if it was as exploitative as the internet makes it sounds, or if there was more underneath the sexual wrapper.

After a bubbly blond actress rejects the "Jiggle King" Jerry Farber (John Klemantaski), she takes off from the party and ends up running into some of the local media. After a little dishing to the news about how scummy the Jiggle King is, she finds herself in a world of legal troubles. She ends up going for legal help, where attorney Julie (Nell Ruttledge) sees something more to her story then just a normal firing and a woman scorn. After debating the point with her bosses Biggs (Julian Starks) and Witt (Mark Toma), they finally agree to take her case. As the film progresses, we're given a look at the background research and trial), but we're also given a look at life itself. All aspects of life are discussed and shown in a comedic manor: romance, sex, lies, truths (in all form of it), and just life as a whole. That's one of the things that makes this film so entertaining...it's grasp on mixing comedy with a message.

Reading about the film and all of the controversy surrounding it, you would think it's basically a comedic fuck film with all sorts of woman hating, dirty jokes, and sex. This movie is so much more then that, and you would really be doing a disservice to yourself to rule the movie out because of that. As you watch the film, you'll come to realize there's so much more to all of the characters in the film, as well as so much more thought and knowledge that can be taken from the film. While in the beginning you'll think "Man, so and so is a real piece of shit", as time passes you'll begin to realize why the characters are the way they are. Whether at that point you still think they're a horrible person or not is your call, but at least the background is given to make an educated decision, rather then just being told what to think.

Yes, there's a lot of comedy in this film, and I would almost call it a comedy, but because of some of the themes that are touched on in the film, I would feel out of line just dumbing the film down like that. It's more of a life drama with a lot of jokes thrown through the script. You can definitely watch this film and laugh here and there, but don't expect to be constantly laughing your ass off.

One of the things that were highly discussed about this film were the sex scenes, so it's only fair that I discuss them as well. They are nowhere near as bad or trashy as some of the information out there would lead you to believe, but they're also not extremely romantic. It's sex, plain and simple. If that intimidates you, or pisses you off, you're not going to like one of the major concepts of the film, and I would suggest not watching the movie.

If anything in this review sounds interesting to you, I highly suggest both watching the movie, and reading into the interviews that you can find about the film (mainly from Mark). There's a lot going on in the guy's head, and after reading conversations with him, you can see where some of the ideas in the movie came from. All and all, I can see where some of the controversy comes from, but this movie definitely deserves a lot of credit, and a chance to be seen and heard.

8/10.
