Real-life pop stars Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung star in a ghastly (and funny) tale about eight siblings who share the same father but have different mothers. The group gathers at their late father's mansion to discuss his will, but just after they arrive, strange occurrences scare the bejesus out of them. Add to that the crazy rules their father mandated they follow to receive their fortunes, and the children may never leave alive! --TMDb

The movie starts out with a fellow named Keith getting caught reading through his neighbor Nancy's mail. She gets angry with him and throws her cell phone at him. It breaks and she blames it on him. He says to meet him at a certain restaurant and he will pay for it there. When at the restaurant, he pays her for the phone and then a little extra for a trip she'll be taking. Her father wrote her (along with seven other of her siblings) asking to visit him at his home. Nancy manages to get even more money out of Keith and make him pay her bills while she is gone. He is extremely hung up on her, though she treats him like garbage.

At her fathers home, she gets to meet six of her brothers and sisters that were also asked to make the trip. Along with a lawyer that is in charge of everything. Seems as if the father had died not too long after writing the letters and they would all be inheriting a nice sum of money. The eighth family member never did show up. So the lawyer moved on to the rules. Every night at midnight for seven weeks they have to light incense and then give one another a hug. Afterwards the rules were explained, they were taken to a room where their stuffed father had been sitting. It was never explained why he was there, so that kind of threw things off.

All was going well with the incense burning and such until one night, the oldest brother decided to snoop around the home for valuable items. He came across a box filled with riches (diamonds, gold, what have you). While stealing the valuables, he felt a sharp pain on the back of his neck. Shortly after, his vision starts get messed up. The father comes out of no where and runs at him. A cut scene comes about so the viewer hasn't a clue what happened. Later on, he's shown grabbing a knife to stab the stuffed father. When he gets to the room the father is being kept, he falls to the ground and begins twitching.

When the rest of the family comes in to check out what's going on, they figure they should get some medicine for the oldest brother. Two of siblings (Ben and Deon) decide to go into town and get him some medicine. When they get in the jeep, they both sit on something that begins to mess up their vision, just like what happened to the older brother. Ben starts to feel the effects first as he sees Deon's child running in front of the jeep. He grabs the wheel from Deon and they crash into a wall. Deon's vision then flips out as they both see the child run into a small pond. Numerous amounts of arms pop out of the pond and drag the two under.

Back at the home, Nancy goes into the room that her father has been placed, only to see the oldest brother eating with one of the sisters. The older brother slams his head into the table, busting it open and bleeding every where. As Nancy runs away, the other sister starts to scream. When morning rises, Keith makes his way to the home to check up on Nancy. At first, the few remaining family members that he was her boyfriend. After Nancy denied that, they figured he was an actor paid off by Nancy to scare the rest of the family members away so that she can get all the money for herself.

Later on, one of the sisters sees something walking around upstairs. She finds Nancy and explains to her what she saw. The two go searching for it and they fall in a secret door leading to a corridor underneath the house. While walking through it, each of them take a different path. The one sister finds herself outside of a different part of the house. Nancy manages to get herself on top of a four story building. When the sister sees a ghost coming after Nancy, she goes to find the others. In the meantime, Nancy finds herself in a sort of laboratory. She then feels a pain in her neck. As her vision starts to mess up, she begins seeing several children with no mouths. She ends up passing out because she's so scared.

While the others are searching for Nancy, they come across a bloodied lawyer. When they refuse to help him, he knocks everyone of them out and drags them into cages in the laboratory that Nancy passed out in. Nancy is shown hanging from the ceiling with her mouth taped up. The lawyer puts the other family members in cages, along with the Ben and Deon who obviously didn't get killed earlier on. As everyone is tightly secure, he explains how he's the eighth family member and how he's the one that has been poisoning everyone. The father got so lonely when none of his children were around, so he decided to make a cure for it.

Instead he ended up making a type of potion that would make people see illusions. The lawyer had a dart gun and would shoot people from behind in the neck. Each of the people would have a different illusion effect. The lawyer thought if he poisoned everyone, they would become overwhelmed with fear and kill themselves. Which is what happened to the oldest brother. Though it didn't work out too well for the rest of the family members. The caged siblings managed to get free thanks to Deon's daughter and that would start a nice brawl with the lawyer, eventually ending the film.

Other than the illusions, the movie itself was quite bland. Way too much dialog for a Cantonese film. Though the acting was semi-decent, even though some times I couldn't tell if certain characters were being dead serious about something or trying to make some kind of inside joke. Thankfully it had a nice pace to the point where it continued being interesting. Not one of the better ghost films, but not one of the worst either. It's worth at least one watch, if you're into ghost related films.

Final Conclusion: 5/10
