To explore the unknown boundaries of suffering and to push the threshold of pain further still, three pitiless explorers of anguish abduct a helpless young woman. Intent on putting their youthful subject through the seemingly endless ordeal of their sadistic research, the men use increasingly brutal techniques to test the theoretical limits of human endurance. Then, the torturers continue the investigation with a heavy hammer, paving the way for the infernal pièce de résistance: a fine and shiny surgical needle. Has anyone survived the Devil's experiment?

Three men have a woman they captured that they plan on doing a number of painful experiments on. For each experiment, the woman is either tied down to a chair or flat surface. Each experiment has their own title. Number one, Hit. The woman is slapped in the face several times. They eventually stop to rub salt in her eyes, then quickly start slapping her again. Then a sack of coins was brought out as they hit her in the face with that. Number two, Kick. The only experiment where she won't be tied to anything. Though her arms are tied together behind her back. She's blindfolded and then kicked everywhere on her body. The three men keep telling her to stand up, but then kick her down once again. Number three, Claw. A pair of pliers are used to grab ahold of the top of her hand and a piece of her arm. The pliers are twisted around the skin and pulled as much as possible.
Number four, Unconscious. When they aren't experimenting on the woman, she's out in the woods, trapped in a net that hangs from a tree. The men go out and there and start spinning her around. Then they bring her inside where she's tied to an office chair and then spinned around in that a hundred times. They pour a bottle of liquor down her throat and then spin her around in the chair a hundred more times. When they stopped at two hundred, she began puking. Number five, Sound. Headphones playing a loud and deafening noise was tied to her head. Five hours in, she began screaming. Ten hours in, the began convulsing. Twenty hours in, she was so out of it to the point where she was no longer moving. Just drooling. Number six, Skin. With the same pair of pliers from Claw, they ripped one of her fingernails off.
Number seven, Burn. A pot of water boiling at seventy degrees was poured onto one of her arms. Then a one hundred and fifty degree pot of water was poured onto the same arm in the same place. Number eight, Worms. Worms were then scattered across her body. Mostly on the arm to pick at her burn. Number nine, Guts. After passing out from the pain, the men began to throw (what looked like) animal guts at her. When she finally gained conciseness, she began screaming. Number ten was untitled. While being trapped in the net outside, one of the men hit her with a sledgehammer. Back inside her hand was slit open with a medical knife, then hit with a smaller sledgehammer. Number eleven, Needle. This would be the final experiment. A recently sharpened needle is slowly pierced through the skin. As her eyelids begin to fill up with blood, the needle is pierced through her eye. The film ends with her back in the net, slowly spinning in circles.
This video was intended to come off as a real experiment. Production, exact release date, staff and cast were never noted. The experiments went half and half with obviously being fake and then looking real. The first two experiments, Hit and Kick, were obviously fake. You could plainly see the slaps not connecting, along with the kicking. Claw looked pretty real, but the woman was hardly making any noise. She would let out a weak moan every now and then. Completely killed the effect. Unconscious and Sound could both easily be done with little to no acting. So it would hard to pin those down to being real or fake since most everyone would have a different effect to them. Skin was the best experiment and looked the realist. The woman couldn't mess it up either due the scene being stopped immediately after the fingernail is ripped off.
Burn was the second best. The burn mark she had looked perfect. Worm was the lamest experiment. Most of the worms fell off when they were dropped on her. The only time any of them would stick was when there were dropped on her clothes, which was useless. Guts also wasn't that good. The guts were real, no doubt about that. But having her wake up to a pile of guts on her just didn't seem to riveting. The untitled experiment looked real when they were cutting her hand open, but the hand flopped around like a fish when it was hit with the hammer. Needle was the best attention getter, the best to end the film with. Looked quite real until the needle went through her eye.
All the details on the movie that were avoided on releasing this ended up helping the film. If your average Joe picked up this film with no sort of artwork, he'd probably think it was real after watching it. Anyone with a sense foreign movie knowledge would catch on pretty quickly. The production of the film was obviously low, but a real film like this would have been tons lower. There was tripods used for most of the film, along with different angles on most everything. A real film of this magnitude would have a shaky home video camera with heavily masked men. Through out it all, it's an interesting watch.
Final Conclusion: 7/10

check our CD Exchange every 2 weeks, I found "The
Best of Guenia Pig" and my freind Poltergeist
bought it, it was preety good, so I think I'll
check out the rest of the series when I get the
chance.

I've fianlly caught the entire series, one of the
best Japanese exploitation sets on the market,
easily the most disgusting. This entry was
remarkably good, the gore was driving and
extremely realistic. We need more gore like that.

I'm not really sure how to rate this..... This
film is pretty graphic and you can plainly see why
is got so much controversy. I thought the effects
were great. I presonally think they pulled off
the 'snuff' feel pretty good. It does get
reptative though. It's like a porn....just with
torture instead of sex. I guess overall, I'd give
it a 7.5/10.
