Starting off with Junko as a little girl and showing how she was unpopular she was. A boy tries to hit her with a hammer. She gets frightened and sets him on fire. He ends up burning to death. Junko and her mother attend the funeral, after leaving, her mother explains to Junko about the powers she has. She's now shown in the present at her job at an office. She works in general affairs. Later on she runs into a man she works with, Kazuki from sales. They get together later that evening she meets with Kazuki and his sister, Yukie. Kazuki gets caught up in his work which leaves Junko and Yukie to get better acquainted. They get so involved with each other that Yukie starts to call her "Sis." Kazuki has to tend to more business and Junko takes Yukie home.

When the two females depart, Yukie is soon kidnapped and killed by a group of teenage thugs. One of the kids somehow managed to get caught, Masaki. There's not enough evidence against him though, so he doesn't get convicted. Kazuki tries to kill Masaki but is stopped by Junko. Kazuki questions to why she stopped him. She explains to him her powers and shows him an example by blowing up a mans car when he parks in an improper place. Masaki is followed to the park the next day by Junko and Kazuki. As she begins to set him on fire, Kazuki stops her. He tells thanks her for trying to revenge Yukie's death, but then thinks she did it just to try out her powers. She gets so offended that she quits her job and moves away.

Shortly after moving, she gets a call from Kouichi. He also has a form of ESP. He's able to make people do whatever he wants just by touching them. The cops managed to find yet another ESPer. A teenage girl that's psychic. Back to Kouichi... he convinces Junko to team up with him to kill off the gang that killed Yukie. She ends up battling the gang by her lonesome and ends up defeating them all except for Masaki. Junko later runs into the psychic teen. Junko takes her in as if she were family. Junko finds herself looking for help from a certain cop, with the cop being no help, she returns to Kouichi. Only to find that he's kidnapped her psychic pal. The movie comes to stop when Junko goes to a park to get her friend back and it looks as if everybody is against her.

Special effects, just incredible. Junko makes a heat wave to protect herself through the movie, that thing alone is awesome. It also makes an appearance when she's in the show kissing Kazuki and it melts all the snow flakes that hits the force field, very nice. When ever she uses her powers to kill people, they tend to explode. You get to see the persons body fluids start to boil, then their face expands to the point of explosion, none of which were done by CGI. When she looks for help from the cop and gets turned down, she starts to makes papers set on fire and blow all around the room. Another effect not done by CGI.

There's quite a few CGI moments, like when Junko has to battle force field with force field. And when she has to hold back a gigantic explosion, among other things. Every single effect in the entire movie is original and beyond great looking. There's a couple of killings done with gun shots. Very real looking. Excellent acting, characters, script, and story line. Basiclly the same plot and running time as the 1984 film "Firestarter," but a whole hell of a lot better. A lot more taking place in this film. If you're a fan of outrageous fires, this movie is a must.

Final Conclusion: 9/10
