After being abused once again by her boyfriend, Sarah runs to a pay phone to call her sister April for help. April is hosting a party at her house when she calls. April tells her sister to come over anyway, thinking that it's nothing major. When she arrives heavily bruised, she's brought into a guest bedroom as April calls it a night and has everyone leave. The next morning, April leaves for a movie shoot in another state. With Sarah alone in the house, her boyfriend, Bobby, comes to pay her a visit. Before he gets the chance to do anymore damage to her, April's boyfriend, Richard, comes over to put a stop to things. Even though he didn't touch Bobby or even say anything to him.

Later on that night, Sarah comes across a book of spiritual chants that was given to April the night before at her party. She finds a passage that will make her attractive and irresistible to men. She sets up two candles in front of a mirror and begins the chant. She gains beauty, but in return, an evil spirit by the name of Surah enters her body from the mirror. Now not only is she attractive and irresistible, but she also has the need to kill. She dresses herself up and walks to the local bar. After impressing the bar tender, she has him take her home. As he's waiting for her in the bedroom, he starts to light one of the red candles. Surah takes over and kills the man.

Another evening arrives as Sarah heads over to a different bar to pick up another man. Not even being in the bar a minute, she starts to dance with a fellow, then takes him to her place. The two have sex and make it through the night. In the morning, the guy gets up before her and makes himself some coffee. He plans on leaving, so he writes her a note. Not seeing anything to write with, he picks up her lipstick and writes "Thanks" on the mirror. More was to be written, but by the time he got that word out, Sarah awakes with "Thanks" backwards burned into her face. Which soon leads to his death.

That same night, Bobby visits Sarah again. With Surah out of her body, she's basically defenceless against him. He tries to get her back, but she keeps pushing him away. He finally gets fed up and starts pushing her around. Sarah pulls out a gun and shoots him. The bullet only graces the back of his head. But by the time he gets up, she has already summoned Surah to enter her body. Now with a very evil looking face, Bobby is convinced it is a mask as he begs for his life. It doesn't work as Bobby finally gets what's coming to him.

In the morning while Sarah is cleaning up the house, she puts away the vacuum cleaner in the living room closet, but it doesn't seem to quite fit. She stuffs it in there and heads to her closet. As she opens it up, the bar tender's corpse falls out. She grabs a knife and then begins running. When she runs into the living room, the vacuum cleaner bursts out of the closet as the man from the bar and Bobby's corpses fall out. She ends up passing out from all screaming she's doing. April calls her the same time Sarah hits the floor. Sarah obviously doesn't answer the phone, so April flies back to her home to find Sarah in the back yard burying something. Sarah knocks her out by hitting her with a shovel in the back of her head.

Richard comes over in the morning to find April staggering through the backyard. While he's trying to comfort her back in her home, Sarah awakes and comes out into the living room. The two start yelling at her as she doesn't remember a thing that happened. Later in the evening, the couple walks in on Sarah while Surah is coming through the mirror. They grab her so she doesn't enter into her body. They end up breaking the mirror, which sends Surah away. The only problem is that Surah is able to transport herself into Sarah's body from any mirror in the house, which leaves Sarah seeking help from a psychic by the name of John Smith.

A lot more drama in this film than actual horror. A good majority of it belongs to Sarah and Bobby fighting, which just starts April and Sarah yelling once Bobby is dead. The three men that Surah kills are done the same way each time. She digs her fingernails into their throats, that eventually suffocates them. Her nails digging into their throat is shown for about two seconds, then it shows a close up of the victims face, then Surah's face, then the guy is dead. When Sarah finds them in the closet, the center of their shirts are the only part that is blood stained. Terrible acting acting as well, for everyone.

Sarah's make-up when she turned into Surah was by far the best part of the film, and mostly the only good part. When her second bar fellow was writing on her mirror, the letters that were burned into her face looked so good. A very unique idea as well, and to put the letters backwards on her face seemed to be the only thought that was put into the film. As Surah went into her body when Bobby came over the second time, she had a sort of deadite from Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" mixed with a demon from Lamberto Bava's "Demons". Not as extraordinarily well done as those two, but more of an amateur mix.

As a whole, the film wasn't unbearable, but it was in no way interesting either. Had the killings been shown instead of face close ups, that would have helped a lot. Along with more than three deaths and less drama with Bobby and Sarah. Even with the acting as bad as it was, put in and take away those few details, and the movie would have been quite entertaining. It wasn't bad for Deryn Warren's first experience with a film. A lot worse could have been done, as shown in previous films for the genre.

Final Conclusion: 3/10
