Method Man follows the lives of five strippers living in five different states. More than a voyeuristic trek between strip clubs, the film is an insightful, intimate look at the everyday lives of strippers. --IMDb

In this documentary that was written, directed, starring, and produced by rapper / Wu-Tang Clan alumni Method Man, we explore the world of strippers (ahem, exotic dancers) and meet the women involved. Meth travels from New York to Atlanta to Miami to Houston and then finishes off in Los Angeles, and brings along quite a few of his celebrity friends for the ride. There's the expected Wu-Tang fellows that show up, most noticeably Redman and Ghostface Killah, and there's also a few other rappers, with Scarface being the highlight. Meth doesn't ignore the rock crowd, however, as he also has Travis from Blink 182 show up to smoke some weed with him. Meth and his entourage go from one strip club to the next, as we watch a hearty helping of strippers plying their trade and giving some insight into the job that they do. If you've ever wanted to know the answers to such questions as "Why do you work in a strip club?" and "Have you ever encountered some rotten pussy in the changing room?" and hear them coming straight from a stripper's mouth, then this would be the documentary for you.

While the vast majority of this disc revolves around gratuitous T&A, there's also some entertaining discussions to be had with the ladies involved. Most of them are either humorous or blatantly obvious ("Why do I strip? For the money!"), but there's a few segments that actually went a bit further and attempted to show real issues from the strippers point of view. We cover things such as their parents thoughts on their profession, how their significant other deals with it, and what they plan to do with the money that they save from stripping are but some of the topics covered with the ladies. The movie basically rounds out to about seventy-five percent strip-scenes, twenty percent insight, and five percent Meth goofing off with his rap buddies, so if a thoroughly enlightening documentary dealing with exotic dancers is what you're looking for, then this would most likely be one that you'd want to pass over. However, if you're in the market to for a documentary that covers a few issues and shows ample amounts of nudity (including a woman shooting water halfway across the room using only her vagina), then this one is definitely worth a viewing.

Meth only went to the finest of strip clubs, so in turn, nearly all of the women presented here are quite hot. However, I personally think that it would have been interesting if he had visited at least one seedy strip club located in the middle of nowhere. Now, seeing overweight skanks shaking what they've got wouldn't have made the movie better, but hearing some of their tales could definitely have raised the entertainment factor a bit. As it is, most of the strippers that were interviewed seemed to have it quite easy with doing they do, with them working in a very tight establishment with loads of security watching their every move.

Method Man is the man responsible for this movie, wearing the director's cap as well as having the leading role. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the movie features huge amounts of nudity, lots of rap music playing over top of the events that are transpiring, a fair bit of weed smoking, and just a bit of insight and tales from the road by the women involved. If that sounds like your type of movie, then this one definitely delivers. For me, it was average. I thoroughly enjoyed the nudity, some of the commentary by Meth and his rap buddies was hilarious, and there was a few good tales from the ladies. However, I couldn't help but feel that there could have been more to see here had some of the ladies received a bit more time to talk. 5/10.
