This was released in 2000, and supposedly took ten years to finish. That would mean they started in 1990, correct? I find that hard to believe, since everything looks like it was shot no later than 1984. The clothing, the lingo, pretty much everything. But that's all fine and dandy... how'd the movie stand up?

Horridly. My biggest gripe, by far, was the audio quality. I watched this on DVD, and it sounded like a tenth generation VHS dub-job. All of the speech was very muffled and unclear. Here and there, they'd play some music to go along with a scene, but the music was louder than the speech, so hearing much of anything was impossible. Moving on the carnivore itself, that ranks up there with the worst of movie monsters. You never really see the entire monster, which I suppose in this case is a good thing. For most of the movie, you only see a hand come around the corner, claws tap against the wall, then a quick peek at the head before a cutscene. This played out no less than five times. Around the end, they start showing the face of the monster, which looks like something that was rejected from a Honey Comb commercial. The acting, save for the asshole cop, was even worse than all this. I do believe I could go to my local Wal*Mart, pick nine random people, and have a better cast than this movie had. The cop, as I mentioned, did pretty nice in his role, but sadly, he only had a few scenes, nothing major going on.

The only saving grace for this movie was the gore. There's a whopping two kills shown, and both were done decently enough. Nothing particularly excellent, but I suppose it looked nice enough.

1/10 would be the final summary.
