The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!
|
|
Great review and I'm damn glad I finally talked
you into watching this. Compared to the show is
roughly the equivalent of the South Park
transition to the big screen. They took everything
good about the show and just ramped it up 110% I
would say 8.5/10 from me.

Agree with chad there. Wish I could have found the
extended edition but thems the breaks. Still damn
fine flick. 9/10 ending was a bit of a let down.

The Wizard

I remember watching this movie in the cinema with
Bruce and I believe you as well there Chad. Great
movie and personally I would give it an 8/10
simply for the nostalgia factor alone. I remember
all of us trying to guess what game was going to
appear at the end of the movie and all of us
desperately trying to figure out who the shadowy
figure with the tail was. When Mario is finally
revealed wearing his raccoon costume and the first
few glimpses of the game to be our hearts raced
and hyperactivity went through the roof with the
"I WANT THAT NOW! I CAN'T WAIT!" fervor
of youth. I guess were finally showing our age
here huh?

Hobo With A Shotgun

Completely agree with the review here. Lots of
campy fun to be had and a great nod to the
Grindhouse films of old. Some scenes were a little
hard to watch (IE: The bus scene) which made you
really loathe the villains even more. Nothing felt
out of place or just shoved into the mix for
padding. On a side note I wouldn't mind having a
razor baseball bat myself. Overall great movie
10/10 here as well.

True Blood: Season 3
|
|
I loved this Season just as much as the first two
seasons and completely agree with the review.
However also having read the books my one
complaint is how some of the characters were
handled. I think the writers completely butchered
the Calvin Norris character and the Holly
character. Holly isn't so much of a problem but
Calvin Norris was a really great character in the
books and to see him reduced to what he was in the
series was quite a let down. Beyond that I got no
real complaints. 9/10

Survival Of The Dead
|
|
Finally got around to watching this last night and
I must say I quite enjoyed it. I love how Romero
is sticking with the Zombies "Evolving"
idea. For me this makes future installments worth
looking forward to. 8/10 here myself.

Man v. Food: Season 1
|
|
This show is so awesome. I catch it on Travel
Channel whenever I happen to see it on. Unlucky me
they had a marathon on Saturday but I was busy
with family matters. Oh well good thing its on
Netflix Instant seems like I'll be watching ol
Adam stuff himself silly while I munch away on my
own food and cringe as he near bursts.

The Onion Movie

Good movie. Lots of laughs and fun to be found
here. A little slow nearing the end but the wrap
up was nice how they tied it all together. 8.5/10

The Boondock Saints
|
|
I loved this movie. Ok so it has elements seen in
many other movies done by great directors but you
know what name any movie coming out that hasn't
done the same? The acting was great, plot
semi-believable and the scene with the Cat is one
of the absolute funniest things I have ever seen
on film. By no means is this the end all be all of
action movies or as I like to refer to them
"Time warp" movies like Pulp fiction or
just about any Tarantino film, but it holds its
own nicely. In my opinion a solid 8/10

Clarissa Explains It All: Season 1
|
|
OMG chad I totally remember me and you watching
this show at Bruce's. Damn that was a looooong
time ago. As for snick yeah I remember that. My
memories a little cloudy in my..."older"
years but I remember us also watching the shit out
of Ren and Stimpy around the same time as
Clarissa. So sue me for not being geek enough to
remembering the exact show line ups and times from
that time period but I seem to remember them being
fairly close together. Another great show from
that relative time period I believe was Pete and
Pete but I could be wrong on that one.

The Midnight Meat Train
|

Thanks for the review. I saw the preview for this
on a rental copy of Saw V and have been very
interested in seeing it. Guess I'll have to sign
up for netflix here soon or pray that Blockbuster
has a copy. Ofcourse I'll more then likely end up
purchasing the DVD of it but its always good to
check it out before hand. Also does anyone know
where I could obtain a copy of Clive Barker's
short stories?
