The Last Exorcism
The Last Exorcism So yeah, I loved the ending. I really don't see how it "ruins" the rest of the movie. In the realms of a horror film about demonic possession, it's not far fetched at all. Someone listed how it can lead to a few inconsistencies in the plot, which I can kind of see, but not enough to ruin the movie. I loved the film.

The Last Exorcism
The Last Exorcism Well that's pretty awesome to hear. I usually agree with your reviews, and I'm seeing it on Wednesday, so I'm pretty excited now. A lot of people have said the ending is just awful (and completely negates any redeeming factor the rest of the movie had). Guess I'll find out on Wednesday.

That's all I have to say about that matter. And also, it did NOT deserve the Golden Globe for Best Picture (aside from the fact that the Golden Globes are a joke).

Black Christmas
Black Christmas I just watched this a couple hours ago, and hot damn if that wasn't one of the finest slasher movies I've ever seen. And fucking creepy to boot. The phone calls from the killer are fucking creepy as hell. And as Tristan said, the eye in the fucking door made me shit my pants. And I love a downer ending. XD 9.5/10

Friday The 13th Part 2
Friday The 13th Part 2 Pretty awesome movie. The ending actually made me jump, and that hardly ever happens. That slow-mo shot of Jason jumping through the window is creepy as hell.

Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon
Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon I forgot how much I loved this movie. I just watched it for the second time (thank you Netflix instant viewing), and it's still one of my favorite slasher films. The mixture of styles is done incredibly well, and Nathan Baesel is absolutely fantastic. And as Tristan said, the Talking Heads playing in the credits was awesome. 10/10

Jennifer's Body
Jennifer's Body Throw that all in one next time, bud...

Hah, yeah, sorry. My thoughts came segmented. Too bad there's no edit option on comments. XD

Grace
Grace *SPOILERS*

I don't know, I pretty much found the movie to be ridiculous. After hearing all these great things, I was really excited to see it and unfortunately let down. Jordan Ladd was great, but her character still pissed me off. I know she's a vegan and everything and doesn't like traditional medicine, etc., but if my baby was drawing flies and fucking drinking blood, I'd bring it to a hospital. And the ending was ridiculous. I did really like how her mother-in-law had this weird mom complex going on. The scene where her husband sucks on her breast...creepy shit. Overall, it was good, but could've been better. 7/10

The Midnight Meat Train
The Midnight Meat Train Really awesome movie. I finally got around to watching it today. I thought the twist was ridiculous at first (why he's butchering people), but then I realized, "Fuck...it's based on a Clive Baker story. It's never gonna be just some serial killer story." And boy, did they let the gore flow. I read a comment on imdb.com where some guy said it was hardly a gory movie. O_o

Zombieland
Zombieland Seriously? I thought it was fantastic. I love zombie flicks to death, but it was nice to see it be about the characters for a change. It was no Shaun of the Dead, but still completely enjoyable. 8.5/10

Trick 'R Treat
Trick 'R Treat And I'd just buy it, but I'm poor as shit right now.

Trick 'R Treat
Trick 'R Treat I WANT TO SEE THIS SO BAD BUT IT'S GOT A FUCKING LONG WAIT ON NETFLIX. And it's not on Comcast, either. GRRRRRRR.

Candyman
Candyman I thought I'd seen this before, but it must have been one of the sequels. I just watched it on Netflix, and I loved it. Really really great atmosphere, and while there was quite a bit of gore, it didn't use the gore to scare/unsettle the viewer. I loved Chicago as the backdrop, too. I hear it's being remade. Blah. Oh, and Virginia Madsen has an amazing rack (at least in 1992 she did).

Lost: Season 5
Lost: Season 5 "I actually yelled at my screen after the finale wrapped."

I did the same thing. XD

Lost: Season 5
Lost: Season 5 So I just finished this season an hour or so ago. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK it needs to be January. These past 3 or so weeks I've spent watching Lost have been some of the best moments I've ever experienced with a television show.

Jennifer's Body
Jennifer's Body And am I the only one that thinks Megan Fox has a weird face?
Posted by waxtadpole3657 on October 7, 2009
Jennifer's Body
Jennifer's Body Oh, and it also means that Diablo Cody was most likely a fluke. Because why I highly enjoyed Juno, some of the dialogue came off as completely forced ("THUNDERCATS ARE GO!!!!!!"). Fucking hipster dialogue. "This is SOOO much better than Suspiria." *groan*

Jennifer's Body
Jennifer's Body I'm glad this movie bombed. Because it means that maybe people are getting sick of Megan Fox. I certainly am.

Doubt
Doubt I CANNOT wait to see this. I absolutely adore Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman is amazing, and Meryl Streep is Meryl Streep. I'm probably gonna catch this and Ben Button next week.

Let The Right One In
Let The Right One In I'm about 1/4 of the way through the novel, and I cannot fucking wait to see the film. It's opening next week in Hartford. It's about a 45 minute drive, but totally worth it. I have a DVD screener (which I have yet to watch), but I'd prefer to see it in the big screen.

Australia And the grammar I used in that sentence made no sense. XD

Australia
Australia Glad to see you liked it. I really want to see it, and then I saw that it was getting lukewarm reviews.

Splinter
Splinter I was actually really excited to see that this was available to watch on Comcast On Demand because I had read a review and it sounded great. Needless to say, I loved it and completely agree with this review. Best creature feature I've seen in a VERY long time. They just don't make them like they used to.

Let The Right One In
Let The Right One In This one hasn't even started its theatrical run in its native country, and Hollywood has already announced a remake. Awesome.

That sounds pretty much like the remake of [REC]. The movie had been out for like 2 fucking weeks in its native country, and it was picked up for a remake with a stupid name (Quarantine). And, based on the trailers and TV spots, it looks like the most pointless damn remake ever. It looks EXACTLY the same. They even went as far as to ruin the damn money shot of the movie in the trailer (for those of you that haven't seen the original, the scene where the girl gets dragged away into the dark...LAST shot of the movie).

Anywaaaaaaay...enough rambling about remakes. Yeah, I heard about this movie a little while ago, and it sounds absolutely fantastic. I'm really want to see this.

[REC]
[REC] HAH. The viral marketing for the American remake is awesome, only because the people on youtube actually think it's real. Seriously, watch the videos and read the comments. Knowing that it's just marketing for an upcoming movie, the comments will seem hilarious. Too bad the remake's a SHOT FOR SHOT remake (at least it looks like it from the trailer). The even show the last scene (as in the last god damn 5 seconds of the movie) in the trailer.

Frontière(s) Should be arriving from netflix early next week. Pretty excited.

Iron Man
Iron Man I absolutely loved this. I was like Nirrad when I first saw the trailers. I didn't think it looked like garbage, but I wasn't at all interested. But when I saw the crazy reviews it was getting, I had to see it. And I'm totally glad I did. Robert Downey Jr. was a fantastic Tony Stark.

The Rage
The Rage I thought this movie was...how can I say it? Shitty? And I usually agree with your reviews, MvMMDI. I love stupid gory horror movie once in awhile, but I just couldn't get around the retarded looking vultures and such. I never once found myself chuckling (only at how bad it was). The only thing I enjoyed was Divoff's performance. I really was in it for Erin Brown. I was aware that she didn't get naked before seeing it, so that didn't disappoint me (I like her as an actress as well; I loved Sick Girl). I just didn't like it at all. But that's just me.

The Ruins
The Ruins I just can't get around the fact that this is about killer vines. XD Although most people tell me it's pretty good.

Cloverfield
Cloverfield GOD DAMMIT I'm an IDIOT. I wish we could edit posts so I could put spoilers in my post. >_< Anyone reading this, DON'T read my other post if you haven't seen the movie.

Cloverfield
Cloverfield I had a lot of fun at this film. I never expected it to be anything amazing, but the experience was definitely a lot of fun. The creature looked really badass, and the film was actually pretty intense and terrifying at times. I just kinda wished it had ended 10 minutes earlier (surviving a helicopter crash? PUH-LEASE). All in all, it was a lot of fun at the cinemas. Oh, and kudos to the sound guys. 8/10

The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
The Diving Bell And The Butterfly This is surprisingly playing in CT (2 theaters), one which is within driving distance. I really need to catch this film.

One Missed Call
One Missed Call It's got a big old 0% on rottentomatoes.com right now, and that's out of 29 reviews. This very well may turn out to be 2008's worst film. It certainly looks like it. Hopefully it puts the fucking nail in the coffin of Asian remakes.

Near Dark Bill Paxton is the most badass vamp ever.

Juno
Juno Awesome. This is opening in my local theater tomorrow. This, Atonement and There Will Be Blood are the 3 last movies I need to see from 2007 (well, not the last ones, but the last three I REALLY want to see).

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem I haven't seen the movie yet (the first was a pretty huge POS), but I have to say...that Japanese poster is fucking BADASS.

Charlie Wilson's War
Charlie Wilson's War I'm really interested in seeing this, if only for Amy Adams. I loved her in Enchanted, which made me want to see Junebug, in which she was amazing. Quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street I abso-fucking-lutely adored this movie. I saw it last night, and I had a huge smile across my face the whole time. I wasn't familiar with the original musical before seeing the movie, but after seeing this, I want to see it on stage (I also added the recorded version with Angela Lansbury to my netflix). I haven't been able to stop listening to the soundtrack. As you said, Johnny Depp doesn't have the range (or I imagine) of the other actors who played Sweeney on stage, but he was still wonderful, my favorite musical number of his being Epiphany. Jamie Campbell Bower's got a great voice, and I loved him singing Johanna. Edward Sanders was fantastic, too. And we can't forget about Sacha Baron Cohen, who was hilarious, as usual. But enough about the actors; the movie was just amazing to look at. I loved, loved, loved this movie. Probably my favorite of the year. The final shot was absolutely haunting.

Away From Her
Away From Her WOW. What a fucking wonderful movie. It's pretty heart breaking, but completely touching at the same time. Julie Christie was absolutely wonderful, and I'm happy she got an award from the National Board of Review. Gordon Pinsent was great, too. Definitely one of the best films of the year.

The Brave One
The Brave One I really wanted to see this when it hit the theaters, but unfortunately I didn't get to. I'm hoping the DVD comes out some time soon.

Hard Candy
Hard Candy I fucking ADORE this movie. My brother got it for me used from the GameStop he works at for like 5 bucks, and BOY am I ever glad her did. Ellen Page was fantastic, and it was just an all around great movie. Really excited to see her in Juno.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead WOW. I just watched the trailer for this. It looks absolutely fantastic. I may catch it next weekend. It's playing about 45 minutes from where I live.

The Mist
The Mist Glad to see you loved it, too. I saw it last Wednesday, and it's definitely one of the best horror movies I've seen in awhile, if not one of the best films I've seen this year in general. When I first saw the trailer, I wasn't too interested, until I saw it was directed by Darabont. So, I immediately went out and picked up the novella and busted through it; I was completely enthralled. The movie did not disappoint either. As you said, some of the CGI wasn't up to snuff (especially the tentacles), but I can forgive that. The ones being clouded by the mist were awesome (like the big...scorpion thingy and the fucking massive one at the end). And HOO BOY, what an ending. I'd heard that the ending was changed, but I didn't expect it to be so powerful. Darabont's got fucking balls, and I love that. I REALLY need to get out and see this movie again with a bigger crowd.

Day Watch
Day Watch I'm pretty interested in seeing this (the trailer looked badass), but I just could not for the life of me get through Night Watch (I actually fell asleep at one point). And that's probably a bad thing if I want to see this one.

Ravenous
Ravenous Fucking wonderful film. One of the most underrated horror flicks I've ever seen. I caught parts of it on Sci-Fi a couple years back, and I got it on DVD that Christmas. Robert Carlyle was fantastic in this movie. God damn, now I want to go watch it. XD

Let's Scare Jessica To Death
Let's Scare Jessica To Death Heh. The house that this movie was filmed in is right in my little New England town. I pass by it every morning on the way to school. It's a fucking cool house, too. Never seen the movie, though. :p
