High Tension
High Tension I think this was a pretty descent horror movie, the kind that gives back some credit to the genre. The gore was very well done and most disgusting, but I think the ending WAS disappointing... After Fight Club and Hide and Seek and such, I don't find it original anymore. And there ARE plotholes in my opinion, like the gas station scene that I find very difficult to buy considering the ending. But a pretty decent horror movie nevertheless.

Catwoman
Catwoman They spat on the original comicbook, used it as toilet paper and handed it to WB as a scenario which therefore led to this fiasco.

Team America: World Police
Team America: World Police It was pretty hilarious at the theater (I cried two times) but it was way less enjoyable the second time.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie I watch it over and over again for a) those funny, lovely, naive character and b) David Hasselhoff still accepting a role that only ridicules himself

War Of The Worlds
War Of The Worlds I had big expectations for this film and I was still surprised. It was a pretty damn good movie. The camera work is awesome and gives it an unstable, reporter-like feeling in order to really get you in the action. The retro-alien-movie atmosphere at the beginning is priceless, but what I enjoyed the most was the effective depiction of panic. You could feel everyone was dead-afraid, harmless, desperate. If it wasn't for the ending, I would've rated it perfect. But what's 10-15 minutes of deception vs over and hour and a half of pure apocaliptic delight?

The Pest
The Pest I remembered liking it a lot when I was a kid so I watched it recently with my g/f... God was I dissapointed haha. A classic, just not a good one.

Batman: Dead End
Batman: Dead End prolly the best fan flick. well made, respectful toward the comic strip atmosphere and philosophy, just a weird ending.

Batman Begins
Batman Begins I think it's a good batman movie but I was a bit dissapointed.. It looked like every year's summer blockbuster with a bit of a better 3 dimensionnal character.. I didn't like the voice Bruce took as batman nor his jokes on the material he'd buy for his costume, I didn't like the many Gotham citizens or drunks or hobos saying funny lines when action was happening, I didn't like the scene with Gordon in the batmobile, I didn't like batman destroying half of Gotham.. those kinda things. Also, in my opinion, the caped Batman with bat ears and stuff worked better visually in the 2 first ones. I explain myself: Tim Burton's style has a comic book, colorful twist to it. When you put such a character in a Tim Burton movie that has humour in it and stuff, it works fine. But when you put it in a movie that tends to be realistic and dramatic, it just doesn't fit imo. Anyway, still better than the Schumacher series. I liked Scarecrow, a lot, even if he wasn't ugly like he should be. Rent it, it'll

Scary Movie 3
Scary Movie 3 This is my favorite of the series. Good old slapstick comedy with Charlie Sheen, Leslie Nielsen and such and less gross sex jokes, tho there still are some good ones. A must see.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones If you cut the middle part of the movie with all the cheezy love scenes with Anakin and Amidalla running in the field with waterfalls on the background and all, you get a pretty decent movie. The scenes on Camino and the final battle are pretty well done with decent acting, but please, Lucas, stop trying to guide your actors, you're terrible at that.

The Grudge
The Grudge I actually had a good scare at the theater but I was pretty bored when I saw it again on tv. Not really because I knew the punches, but it had lost its atmosphere. Really the kinda movie you've got to see on a big screen with a dark mood. Anyway, average.

Darkness
Darkness I think it wasn't too bad. I liked the sound clipping effect, twas creepy, tho it made some punch pretty obvious in advance. It wasn't scary (as most scary movies lately) and it lacked a bit of darkness (especially considering its title) but I'll rate average because I didn't expect more.

Scary Movie 2
Scary Movie 2 I personnaly think this is the worst of the series. Althought the first scene (the exorcist parody) is pretty good, the reste is crap. The third one is the best, the first one is a classic, and this one... well... you know.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2
Kill Bill: Vol. 2 Personally I prefered this one. I think both parts are artistically great, part one had a lot of action and blood, but it seriously lacked a good storyline and some of Quentin's awesome dialogues. Of course, it was the introduction of the overall movie, so it's understandable. Tho, with its great western look, its developped scenario and some priceless dialogues, part two really is my favorite.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 I think what sidefriction is missing is that this movie is first of all a pastiche (There are numerous references such as the Green Hornet theme), and second of all, a bit of a parody as well, hence the lack of realism. The animated part, IMO, is totally delightful and goes well with the rest of the movie since everything there is inspired by japanese cinema, either old japanese series/movie or anime. I think it's not to be taken too seriously. Quentin had a passion for japanese culture and he wanted to honor it. And I'm not saying this because I totally loved it ; I think part two is way better. I just hate it that a lot of people unfortunately watch this movie and flame it without even thinking about the influences that created it or Quentin's artistic intention.

Bubba Ho-Tep
Bubba Ho-Tep Why can't people understand and enjoy this movie? Everytime I mention it to people they laugh or make a funny look. Sure it's a B. Sure it's cheap and has a pretty strange storyline. But I do think it's a great movie. Bruce acts superbly and this weird unusual drama/comedy/soft horror mix seems nothing less than refreshing to me.

Evil Dead II
Evil Dead II My all time classic. Much better than the first one that took it too seriously and left a sour taste in my mouth with that deranging three-rape scene... Raimi made the right decision by reaching a great balance between horror and comedy, with outsanding camera work and sound editing. The laughing deer scene, the posessed hand scene, and this great huming Evil roar that impresses me every time. Aw, but I'm getting too sensitive here...

Sin City
Sin City This is so identicial to the comic strip (except maybe 2 or 3 minor things) and yet so refreshing.. Seeing on the big screen what I've read and enjoyed so much pleases me even more. The colors (don't be fooled, there are colors), the music, the pleasant over-acting and the GORE... my my... can't wait for the DVD to come out...

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind Best interpretation by Jim Carrey. And what do you know, he doesn't make any face! Well.. almost none...

Predator 2
Predator 2 Oh God... Pretty funny to watch, but such a shame-of-a-movie... The first one is a classic tho.
