Johnny Blake, also known as the Monk, is a demon slayer. Not necessarily meaning he slays demons, but more like kinds of demons. Vampires and lesbian sisters that want to take over the world (more or less). The Monk even has his own personal assistant, Karen. The movie starts out with the Monk and a new client of his. She starts telling him a story that would lead up to the mission she has for him. During the story, a group of masked persons come charging into the Monk's office and kidnap her. He follows the group, battles them off and saves the woman. Though the woman turns out to be Sister Avarice.
Avarice is in need of his services. She holds one third of a magical stone. Her two sisters own the other two pieces. She needs the Monk to get the other two pieces for her so she can rule the world. If he succeed's, he is rewarded with the power of darkness. If he fails, he'll be damned to suffer in a place for worse than hell. The first sister he takes on, Sister Anger, owns a karate school. The second, Sister Lust, runs a womens escort service. Karen is by his side when he fights the two sisters and the obstacles they throw at them.
Some of the characters didn't make sense. The Monk is suppose to be a demon slayer. He's shown killing a vampire with ease at the beginning of the movie. As the movie progresses, he has trouble defending himself against almost everyone. Sister Anger is in the karate field, so one would think that she's a black belt and what not. Another lady runs the dojo with her, and she's influenced in karate. Which she proves when the monk comes around. But when Anger stands her ground, she just uses a whip on him and does a lot of gymnastics. No sign of martial arts. With the little background the rest of the characters have, they seem to do a decent job.
There's plenty of action scenes, mostly the Monk fighting with different people. The fights were terribly choreographed. They aren't the worst, but they are quite awful. Punches were thrown inches away from the body part and the victim would fly backwards in defeat. The acting wasn't too bad. There wasn't anything just so horrible that it had to be turned off. There was a few erotic scenes that just got boring. Avarice having sex with the Monk. Karen and Anger fondling each other, then Karen eventually stripping for her. Karen and the Monk having sex. Then it got a little better when Lust started turning into females that the Monk had crushes on in high school.
It'd be hard to categorize this film due to so many little pieces of genre's. Erotic, action, adventure, fantasy, romance, drama, suspense, it has a little bit of everything, which is a nice change. The effects mostly came about when one of the sisters would use her magical stone ring. A red laser would shoot out of it and bring the victim to his or her knees. The laser beam was kind of corny looking, but that really can't be held against films like this. If you're into Showtime porn but could use a touch of better acting and some sort of a story line, head out and find this movie.
Final Conclusion: 6/10
