The nerds are now in control of the university, as a result of Lewis Skolnick and the rest's actions in the two previous movies. A new generation of sportsmen arrive, however, determined on winning the school back. The principle, himself an ex-nerd fighter, helps them, and the nerds return to suppression. Harold Skolnick needs help from his uncle Lewis, the hero of the first two movies. Lewis, however, are not too proud of his nerd past, and won't reveal any of it, much less help his nephew. However, his wife makes him change his mind, and with help from his friends from the first two movies, they start the fight to win the school back, using classic nerd tricks.

Speaking of movies that really didn't need a sequel (as I mentioned in the previous review), here we have a made-for-TV movie that is basically nothing more than human excrement in DVD form. Although the second movie in this series was nothing to get excited about, it was the movie of the year compared to this waste of plastic.
The plot: our Tri-Lamb nerds have moved on to the real world of wives and jobs, but they've left behind quite the legacy at the college they attended. In fact, being a nerd is now considered the cool thing to be - they've got the nice frat house, while the jocks are forced to live in a ramshackle little house while wishing that they themselves could be nerds someday. This upsets former Alpha Betas Stanley Gable (Ted McGinley) and Orrin Price (Morton Downey Jr.), so they set out to turn things around by appointing Stan the new dean of the school. Soon, the jocks are once again in control, and the nerds will have to turn to a couple of Tri-Lamb alumni - Lewis (Robert Carradine) and Booger (Curtis Armstrong) - to help them out.
Why did this movie turn out to be so horrible? Well, for starters, it simply isn't funny; as a matter of fact, it's so unfunny that I actually laughed aloud when I realized that someone out there thought that this material would be humorous enough to commit to film. I got a grand total of one laugh out of the entire film, and that was when the Korean Elvis-impersonator (Steve Toyota) delivered a couple of lines. That's a grand total of two or three sentences that pulled at least a chuckle out of me, and when you consider that this abomination ran for ninety minutes, well... you do the math on that one.
I realize that sequels have a habit of tapering off in terms of quality. The original was great, the sequel - while a overall disappointment - was still entertaining in its own little way, but this: this one is just bad, plain and simple. The storyline is stupid, the acting is even worse, and by the midway point of the film, you start rooting for the "villains" (ie, the jocks) in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, they'll be able to run these nerds off of campus and we'll be able to eject the DVD. The nerds in the previous two films weren't exactly the kind of guys you'd want to hang out with, but they were still fun to watch and got the audience behind them. The nerds in this film made me realize exactly why the jocks hated them so much: they're annoying and have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Sadly enough, that sentiment can also be applied to this film as a whole.
Fuck this movie, and fuck the DVD right in its shiny plastic ass. 0/10.
