Quite the classic flick right here, and with good reason. It starts out like many other movies in the genre; bunch of kids show up for a summer of camp, a Rob Feinstein-wannabe cook drools over the fresh meat (aka baldies), and lots of fun is to be had. The killer in question also shows up, and certain people start dying off. Whoever could the killer be? Unless you've had it spoiled for you before watching, the ending will definitely shock you; it's one of the most ingenious endings ever, and miraculously, it all made sense.

When watching this movie, it's quite hard to believe it was made in '83. The clothes and lingo seems a bit dated, but the effects and picture quality are far superior to most movies of that time. We get to see good ol' Artie cooked alive by a huge pot of boiling water; the massive bee-stings to jock-boy; the arrow through the neck of monkey-man... all of these effects are marvelously executed.

Anywho, back to the storyline. Though it seems like a dime-a-dozen slasher, it's really not. Quite the good amount of thought went into this one, with the small clues and hints dropped throughout, and the way everything flowed together. Also, for what it's worth, Angela and Ricky's mom was quite the character, I thoroughly enjoyed her brief appearances.

All in all, a well-deserved 9/10 to this one. If you haven't seen it, and my statement about the ending piqued your curiousity, don't hit up google for a spoiler. Go rent it, at least... it'll sound lame reading it, and it'll kill the fun of finding out yourself.

This film is a pretty traditional horror film up until the ending, which separates it from all other slasher flicks from that day and age. For 1983, this film looks great, and I won't spoil the ending, but I will say it is one of those "The Crying Game" endings that leaves you taking cold showers for days and days. 6.5/10.

First thing that comes to mind when I think of this, is it's The Crying Game meets a damn fine slasher. 9/10

the ending was good and clever but not as good as everyone says it is..........not to mention it cuts out poorly

I knew who the killer was about half-way in... it was pretty damn obvious... but the ending... wow... that was... was alittle out there... 8.7/10

I knew the killer about halfway too. That ending is awesome though.

This movie was funny. I'm not so much into slashers, but this one I enjoyed. The gore is ok, but limited. The characters are hillarious. Their clothers, haircut. It was of course the dark '80s. I still can't believe people actually dressed like that and got away with it (did they?).
The ending is way out there. Disturbing and funny.
