Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) and Brigitte (Emily Perkins) are sisters, and quite the weird sisters at that. Ginger is thinking about suicide, and she wants Brigitte to go along with her when she does it... Brigitte isn't too keen on that idea, however. So instead, they settle on a school project where they take photos of each other in various gruesome death scenes; impaled on a fence, drowned, hung, torn apart by a lawnmower, run over by a car, things of that nature. Life is boring for the two kids, indeed.... until the school bitch, Trina (Danielle Hampton), starts teasing Brigitte. Ginger stands up for her little sister, and later, they come up with a plot to get back at Trina by killing her dog. However, while in the process of this, Ginger starts to bleed "down below"; it's the first night of her first period. Aww, how sweet. After all of this is observed, a werewolf comes out of nowhere and drags Ginger into the woods, biting and clawing her up pretty badly. Brigitte makes the save, and the two run away from the scene. Now that Ginger has been bitten by the werewolf, she's turning into one as well. Brigitte tries to find some sort of cure for this, and hide the multiple murders that Ginger ends up committing.

Very nice werewolf film, even though the actual werewolf scenes were shockingly sparse. We only manage to see two full out werewolf attacks throughout the entire movie, which was a bit of a disappointment... the rest of the scenes are simply of Ginger attacking other people while in either normal human mode, or slightly transformed mode. However, when the werewolf scenes do happen, they look quite nice... very different from most werewolf films I've seen in my time, but good nonetheless.

The pacing of this movie bothered me a bit... it starts out slow, with the normal character introductions and such, and then moves on to the big attack. After this happens, it's mostly Brigitte trying to find a cure for her sister, or Ginger making out with her boyfriend or being depressed about her current state of being. Now, for the first hour or so, the acting skills by these two ladies really saved things; but after that point, nothing could stop the boredom that was starting to occur. To be fair, it wasn't actually flat-out boredom, but more along the lines of just waiting for something, anything, to happen to break the monotony.... only to get a quick event, and off to more dialogue and such. Also, the cliff-hanger ending didn't exactly leave me with a wonderful feeling about the movie, as it's my opinion that movies should end with some sort of closure instead of "wait for the sequel to find out what happened!"

With all that said, however, it did keep my interest throughout, thanks to the acting skills of the two sisters. They really played their roles to perfection, and seemed completely natural in whatever it was they were doing; be it plotting against the school bitch, or ripping a guy to shreds. Damned nice ladies for the parts, they were.

Overall, worth a viewing if you're a fan of werewolf films, even though it does get a bit slow in spots. 7/10.

Were we watching the same movie? Dude... all I'll say is that this cover mis-lead me... there was no lesbian love! I was bothered by that. But the movie was very boring... and no lesbians... 3/10

I thought the movie was amazing. The focus of the movie is more of a psychological/drama than horror though, dealing more with how the wolf thing is fucking their relationship up and how she's dealing with it. I'd go about a high eight, low nine.

I hadn't seen this for a few years but I watched it again tonight. What a cool movie. The lead actresses are so good in their roles and I think the story is an interesting take on the werewolf legend. 9/10

A nice, interesting movie that was especially neat for focusing, like 385 said, on how lycanthropy affected the main characters' lives.
