Connections: Patrick

Patrick, a young man whose father runs a remote spa, is injured in a roadside incident and is in a coma. Some years later, during the off season, five people arrive at the clinic - an ambitious politician and his wife, a swimming star who's the son of a wealthy investor, and a tough-talking man and woman who arrive together but sleep in separate rooms. They're greeted by Lydia, the doctor's new assistant, and by two viciously barking dogs. The dogs' keeper warns Davis, the swimmer, to leave. In a locked part of the clinic, Patrick is in bed, wired to three comatose bodies. What sinister purpose does the doctor have? One by one, the guests meet trouble. Does Patrick have feelings? --IMDb

Patrick and his father (Professor Herschell) are on the side of the road with automobile troubles when a van starts to drive by. As the two wave the van for help, someone throws a bottle with some liquid in it at Patrick. It hits him in the face and puts him into a coma. Years after the inncodent, Professor Herschell finds everyone that was in the van that day and invites them all for a free stay in his mansion. The mansion where he keeps Patrick and a few other people as experiments. Odd things start happening around the mansion and eventually Patrick starts killing them all through telekinesis.

There's a total count of five broads in this movie. Two guests, a maid, a secretary, and one of the Professor's patients. All of which show full frontal nudity and also, the two guests show off their nether regions a few times. To even it out a bit, the two male patients let their soldiers out in the open near the final moments of the movie. For the script and most of the actors, it didn't turn out too well. The script was bad because it didn't help out the story that much. It was never explained why the people really went to the mansion. It was said they got notes in the mail. The notes were never read or talked about what they said.

Lydia, the secretary, was shown to be working for the Professor, but in the end, he tried to get Patrick to kill her because she was part of the six. It is actually explained, but you have to put it together. One time he mentions to her to not be nervous just because she's new. So she was recently hired so she could get killed. Though she had never met any of the other guests before, but she was suppose to be one of the people in the van. And the maid got killed by some dogs because of Patrick, and she had been working there for awhile. Unless it slipped by me, her killing was never explained.

Actors read the script too fast, not leaving many pauses in their lines. For example, Stella (Mariangela Giordano) was trying to get one of the guest to take a walk with her. In a complete sentence, with no thinking, he managed to spit out "No, I won't. It's nothing personal. Well, all right, let's go." Most of the other men did their lines like that as well. The women pulled off their lines nicely and were nude through most of the film. So that definitely made up for the men being horrid actors. Except for Patrick, he didn't have any speaking lines. Just laid in his bed, killing people. Good job on his part.

It takes awhile for Patrick to start in on his murders. Once it does start, they are worth the wait. One guy is swimming in the pool and Patrick heats it up to burn him to death. One girl gets her head chopped off via car window. Stella gets impaled with a long metal object, in her vagina and out her mouth. The dogs the maid keeps and always treats them kindly turn on her and eat her. That was the only death that was drawn out and looked pretty bad. It didn't look like the dogs were trained to well, so the blame will have to belong to them a bit as well as the maid. The rest were nice and bloody. If you enjoyed Mariangela Giordano in Burial Ground and Killer Barby's, check this out.

Final Conclusion: 7/10
