Ahh, the good old slasher film. It has to be the easiest film to make for a first-time director: you simply get some of your friends together, throw around some fake blood, get the females to show off their boobies, and capture it all on tape. There's no need for a sensible plot or brilliant acting, so really, how can you screw it up?
Tonight's film begins when seven people decide to go camping out at desolate Black Creek Park. These friends - Sabrina (Shan Holleman), Benji (Justin Geer), Lincoln (Todd Herring), Roger (Nelson Bonilla), Brooke (Breanne Ashley), Nick (Greg Corbett), and Melanie (Diana Picallo) - pack up their stuff in Benji's parents' motor home with their minds set on drinking some alcohol, smoking some marijuana, and having a little premarital sex. What they don't know, however, is that there is a murderer running loose in these woods (isn't there always?), and soon after a young lady by the name of Nicole (Tanya Fraser) shows up at their campsite, the body-count starts to rise. Could it be Nicole's ex-boyfriend, the guy who keeps calling and threatening her? Or, perhaps it's Jebediah (Lane Morlotte), the redneck store clerk that seems to know an awful lot about what's going on up there... or maybe, just maybe, it's the person you'd least expect.
After reading through a couple of other reviews of this film, I think that it's safe to say that I'm in the minority by enjoying this film. However, that is indeed the case; I thought that this film, while extremely low-budget and slightly on the amateurish side, was well put together and provided an entertaining evening in front of the tube. Sure, it's not going to win any awards for being the best slasher ever, but all things considered, it's a worthy rental for those of you who enjoy your slasher films bloody and with a small helping of laughs.
What I enjoyed most about this film is that once it begins, it doesn't let up until the credits are rolling. Now, admittedly, it does take a while to get started, which is one of the few flaws that I found with the overall feature; some of the "character development" and a couple of the flashback scenes could have found a better home on the cutting-room floor, but that's a minor thing. The kills are of the tried-and-true machete to the face / chest / stomach variety for the most part (although there are a couple of kills that stray from that and turn out to be highly memorable), but at least the blood flows freely. That's a staple in slasher films, and unlike a lot of the other modern-slashers, Motor Home Massacre never forgets it.
The acting found in this movie is... well, Friday The 13th is one of the best slasher films in history, but nobody remembers it for the award-winning actors and actresses found within. I don't think that anyone in this film will be moving on to anything other than b-movies, but I will say that everyone found within was entertaining in their own little way. I will say, though, that Lane Morlotte and Nelson Bonilla (in that order) are the real highlights of the film. Morlotte, while not getting a whole lot of screen-time, is beyond excellent in his role. I don't see the man moving on to Hollywood anytime soon, but I'd imagine that he'd feel right at home in a couple of Troma flicks (that's a compliment). Bonilla is the typical obnoxious asshole that is required from every slasher flick, and he completely goes over the top with the character. As a result of this, he steals more than a couple of scenes, and he managed to pull quite a few laughs from yours truly. Indeed, this isn't your straight-forward slasher / horror film - there are a lot of laughs to be had, and while some of the jokes fall flat, some of them are damned funny.
Anyone expecting to be scared shitless from a film entitled Motor Home Massacre would be well-advised to read up on their horror history. However, if you expect plenty of bloodshed, some neat kills, and a couple of nice sets of boobies, then this would be one to check out. Sure, it's low-budget, and it's pretty obvious that director Allen Wilbanks hasn't had a long career behind the camera; however, he's managed to put together an entertaining ninety minutes of film. 7/10.

This was some boring shit... I felt that even the
actor's lack-luster performances screamed "GOD!
LET ME OUT OF HERE!"... I watched about 34 minutes
of it, turned it offf, tossed the case against the
wall, ate a sandwich and watched "Dellamorte
Dellamore"... 1/10

Yeah..I cringe as I type this... this movie was an
awful waste of time. all bad all around. I
couldn't finish it, as even a limited viewing
experience of "Motor Home Massacre" was
nothin short of torturous.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that got any
enjoyment out of this one. 7/10 as well.
