Gang leader Tony pulls off a major diamond heist with his crew, but cop-turned-criminal Ling knows who has the loot and responds by kidnapping Tony's daughter and holding her for ransom. Decent little action flick, I thought. I'd never seen Jet Li in action before, save for commercials and short TV spots.... sheesh, that man is quite excellent at whatever that crap he does is called. Some very swift scenes in here, especially the opening jump-down-the-insanely-tall-building deal, and the ol' trap-the-dobermans-in-the-car bit.

DMX did decent enough in his role, which didn't require much speech.... mostly little quips here and there. Wonder if those two statements coincide with one another? The main black chick... I think her name is Gabrielle, going by the description up there... does the majority of the talking for the good guys, and she does a pretty good job with it. And then, we have the star of the show... Jet Li. While his actual acting skills are about as entertaining as watching paint dry, his action sequences more than make up for it. One gripe though, I'm not too fond of conversations spoken in Thai, with no subtitles... remember, there's an English-speaking audience watching.

Storyline-wise, nothing too overly original. DMX steals some diamonds, crooks steal them from him, Jet Li wants to take them back to Thailand, Jet and D team up against the baddies for the last 3/4 of the movie. I'm sure somebody, somewhere spent quite a few years working that one up, but I digress.

But with that in mind, it actually came off pretty spiffy. I'll most likely never pop in the DVD again, but it was entertaining for the time it ran, which is a good thing.

5/10, nothing original, you could probably find 20 movies like this at your local Blockbuster.... but in small doses, they'll do.

i dont know what you could be expecting from this movie considering one of the main actors is dmx, aside from me being unable to portray him having any kind theatrical talent, his fight scenes with jet li were nothing short of ridiculous....so jet li easily beats the first men he comes across without taking his hand out of his pocket, then when he fights the amazing dmx (laff) he seems to have problems? whatever...the only reason i would suggest this movie is for the brief fight scenes with jet...

What fight scenes? Jeez, the lack of real action in this movie was fuking incredable for a Jet Li movie! This was a bit of a disapointment, I got to see this movie back when I was a big DMX fan, oh well... he's okay and all, but his acting needs some serious work. Anyway, the movie was acceptable. Watch it if you think a gun fighting martial arts movie was good.
