What a disappointment this was. Anthony Hickox is not a terrible horror director. "Waxwork" was a load of fun and so was "Warlock 2: The Armageddon", an underrated horror masterpiece, in my opinion. But, what he did to this franchise is unforgivable. "Hellraiser III" might be worse than all the straight-to-video releases combined. It might be one of the worst horror sequels ever devised. Maybe I should drop all of the 'mights'.

The film centers around a man who purchased the large revolving centerpiece from the first two films. What he doesn't know is that it craves flesh and that he is going to have to start killing people to feed the centerpiece in order to satiate Pinhead. He does so. Eventually, one of his 'girls' starts getting a little suspicious. It's up to an investigative reporter (Terry Farrell) to stop Pinhead once and for all. You go kick his ass, Terry!

These are the names we get for the Cenobites in this one:

CD the DJ
Camerahead
Barbie
Typewriter Head

Is it just me, or are we scraping the bottom of the Cenobite barrel for names? Camerahead? Give me a break. Introducing the doctor from "Hellraiser II" as a Cenobite was pure horror magic, but these seem like outcast Cenobites...the ones that couldn't get work elsewhere. Pinhead is still the only moderately intimidating one out of the bunch, but he spouts off way too much John Milton and way too much Dante for my tastes. There is nothing worse than a pretentious demon from hell. In fact, pretentious is a good way to sum up Pinhead.

This film is a disaster, through and through. It copies way too much from "Candyman", another Clive Barker film. It is that sequel that was made strictly for the few millions it could muster up. It also signaled the theatrical end for a formerly successful franchise, with the exception of the scantily seen "Bloodline". Horrible film here. 1/10.

this was the first hellraiser I saw as a young kid, when the centerpeice sucks off the naked girls skin is the only memorable part of this movie.
I enjoyed bloodline though..

That is the only scene I remember from this whole movie, the girl getting her skin torn off. Pretty cool scene, if you ask me. 7/10

The most memorable part for me was how shitty the naked-girl (who is flayed) acts... but, yeah, this was a fun entry. Completely pointless and it attempts to build an entirely new concept around the series without giving you any build for it whatsoever, but the mass slaughter and interesting plot twist (along with Doug's masterful acting in his most infamous role) made this campy fun. Although it certainly bastardized the series, it's better to consider some technicallities in it all (such as Pinhead making the new cenobites from scratch and ((just as before)) not naming any of them). This movie is, more-or-less, where the franchise becomes nerd domain. So many new plot-lines to consider, so many ways the story could go. All around the camp and shit made it fun. 7.7/10 for a gory good romp.

The best thing that came from this flick was an injoke of sorts between a few of my friends. Answering phone calls with "Speak."

7/10? I'm an idiot.

This movie was such a horrible turn to take. 3/10 at best.
