When a cockroach-spread plague threatened to decimate the child population of New York City in the original Mimic, biologist Susan Tyler and her research associates developed a species of "Judas" bugs and introduced them into the environment, where they were to "mimic" the diseased roaches and infiltrate their grubby habitats. The plan worked until the bugs evolved to mimic their next prey.....humans! Just when they were all thought to be dead, the giant cockroaches are back, and this time they've mutated to take on human form! --TMDb

Remi is a schoolteacher, and also a huge insect buff. She has cages with various incects all around her apartment, she reads up on them, she even wrote a book about them. When the roaches from the first reappear, they target her for some reason. Why? Why does it kill off her boyfriends, both ex and future ones? What do the giant roaches want from her? What will happen?

I believe this was direct-to-video, though I certainly could be wrong on that. Throw in that it's a sequel, and I really wasn't having much hope for this one. Suprisingly enough, it was decently done. It didn't have the usual lame ending, it had some decent gore where needed, and an acceptable storyline... I was expected the usual "sequel sucks" deal, but alas, this was a nice one if you enjoy giant insect thrillers.
