A dangerously experimental punk art film, as the distro Wicked Pixel called this film. And it's nothing but. The movie takes a good while to pick up it's pace. To be exact, the first fourty minutes of this film are devoted to telling the story of how the Presence came about to Alison and what she has to do. It was a bit long for just that, but wouldn't have been as bad if it wasn't interrupted half way through by the six selected humans (that would later be tested by the Presence) dicking around in their apartment. Even though some of the things that are said through out their little get together help out the film.

To be exact, the six are in an apartment discussing what fears they have. How they don't want to do, how the worst way of dying would be, things of that nature. The Presence uses their fears against them and with that, it gets pretty wild. Every test these six people have to go through are quite interesting and gory, which doesn't really make them tests at all. For example, one of the six is stripped naked and laid out on a gravel road. She's tied to a pick-up truck by her foot and dragged for at least a mile. As if she didn't suffer enough, the driver then brought out a bag of salt and poured it on her. The other 'tests' are just as bloody, gory, and well thought of.

Acting doesn't seem to be that big of a deal in this movie. There's very little dialogue, so there's not to much to mess up. When there is some chatting here and there, all the actors seem to pull it off like professionals. All the killings, gore and bloodshed are very nice and very close to looking real. The story sounds more interesting than it really is. Some higher being is killing people for his entertainment, some lady has to stop his evil ways. Thankfully the movie itself makes the story work out well.

One hour and fifty minutes was the total length of this movie. Sure it had to have the explanations, fighting, killings, gore, ect... but that kind of time just can't do it for me during an artsy film. When the characters were walking or running, it would take them forever to get to the next scene. I don't mind a little traveling on foot, but running through the woods for five minutes straight just to end up back at the same place it started, it just got dumb. The length of the film and the scenes that seemed only as if they were fillers was really the only thing that annoyed me about this motion picture. All together, it's sure to be an artistic horror classic, in due time.

Final Conclusion: 8/10
