Not some movie trying to be a documentary or anything like that, this is a real look at a man called Jeff Towne. Living in the state of Iowa and working at a movie theater (Campus Theater) located in the local mall, Jeff seems to get away with just about everything. He even has a girlfriend, Kristi, who works at the Capus Theater with him. It wasn't too clear why she was with him. She was an attractive lady, somewhere in her twenties, it seemed. She cared about him, but not enough for it to be a real relationship. It's like she was just there to mess with him. Best to watch it to get your own opinion.

Carrying on, Jeff gets to come in contact with one of his favorite TV / movie stars, William Shatner. He's taken to a Comic/Sci-Fi convention where Shatner makes an appearance. On his way out, Jeff runs pass security, grabbing Shatner's hand and patting him on the back. He's also shown at a World Championship Wrestling event, wearing an NWO shirt no less. He doesn't manage to cause any ruckus this time. Jeff's adoption mother, being 98 years old, is convinced she works with the Publishers Clearing House and that they are one of the top ten contestants for the million dollar prize.

Jeff's obsession with pornography is amusing to the point of it being sad. The stacks of magazines he has in his closet, he some times brings to work and will type out words to go with a certain picture. He also draws his own porno, which consists of a woman's head and breasts, with a penis somewhere around her mouth. He's also pictured with two different naked women as he's holding their bare breasts... those pictures were never explained. Kristi also has him explain one of the ladies he went to bed with. It seems as if she had him shoot heroin for no apparent reason and then she moved away, which made him almost cry.

Having down's syndrome, it's very difficult to understand most of what Jeff says other than his common "yeah" and head shake. Other than that, the documentary is very interesting. It shows how people act towards this sort of handicap and how the victim himself lives a daily life. It's in no way to exploit the man as he's fully aware of what's going on with the filming and how it's going to be a movie and whatnot. There's also a short on the DVD entitled "Jefftowne 2" which is a look at Jeff and what's going on four years later. Not an actual movie or documentary, just something extra for the fans.

Final Conclusion: 7/10.

Complete garbage, and the disc was an utter waste of plastic. How this managed to get distribution is beyond me, and why anyone thought that Jeff would make a good subject for a documentary is a mystery. It's a shame about his illness, but it's also a shame that the guy down the street is a drunk... and nobody has made a movie about him yet. 0/10.
