Biotherapy is a fairly nasty Japanese gore-fest about a group of Japanese scientists getting stalked and viciously butchered by a creepy-looking alien who's wearing a trench-coat.

Odd looking objects are seen in the sky one night that appear to be alien space ships. The first person to find out what it was is a scientist that has invented a very special formula. The scientist is confronted by an alien that is dressed in all black to hide his real appearance, he's there for the formula. When the scientist smashes the test tube on the ground, the alien has no use for him and ends his life. He rips one of his eyes out of the socket and sets it on the table in front of him. It turns out that he wasn't the only scientist that got his hands on the stuff. There other younger scientists in the same town also had the formula.
When the alien finds one of the three, he starts threatening the her. She has no information about the formula, so the alien decides to kill her as well. He breaks a few test tubes and sticks them in her chest. Blood begins to shoot out of each test tube. With her still continuing to scream, the alien puts a stop to that by ripping her tongue out. One of the other scientists and his girlfriend walk in the laboratory she was killed in, his girlfriend is the first to see her dead. The cops come and question the girlfriend, then send her on her way as they keep her boyfriend to question him.
During her walk home, she is confronted by the female scientist's boyfriend. He's the number one suspect, she he has to watch where he goes. He gets the full details about his girlfriends death, then gets spotted by the cops. The two cops chase after him, but he gets away. He gets away from the cops, anyway. The alien ends up getting to him as the girl is the first to find him dead, once again. This time when the two cops and the couple are in the same room, the alien shows itself. The first cop is killed by having his top front teeth broken with neck of a gun, then having his brains shot out. Cop number two has his head bashed up against the wall several times.
After the two cops are killed, the couple gets saved by the third scientist. The three go to the first scientists lab and find the floppy disk that particular project was saved on. They are soon attacked by the alien. During the battle, the third scientist rips off the alien's disguise to reveal his hideous face. With the scientist just about done for, he pulls out a test tube that appears to be the formula. The alien grabs it and pours it on himself. The test tube ended up being filled with acid. The alien melts away as the scientist dies of blood loss. The couple ends up being the only survivors.
Way too much dialogue for a gore film such as this one. The gore definitely makes up for it though. When the alien ripped out the main scientist's eye, very detailed. The test tubes in the chest was really good looking. Massive amounts of blood flowed through the tubes, drenching the girl with blood. Then the tongue ripping was just as good. It really looked like the cop got his teeth knocked out when the alien was moving the gun all around his mouth before he pulled the trigger, which produced even more blood. When the second cop tried to help and had his slammed against the wall, the blood covered the entire wall. Then he got his guts ripped out, which was greatly detailed.
To show that the alien was even more of an alien, there was a very cheap special effect added to him that was a blue glow that faded in and out. It was very bad looking and not needed. The alien's outfit was a bit ridiculous too. Trench coat, gloves, a sheet loosely draped over his face like a sheet, and a top hat. Which was all black. The alien itself had a decent look to him. He wasn't really awful looking, but he wasn't a work of art either. A poorly written script as well. Whenever the couple would be in the same room as the alien attacking someone, they held each other while screaming and watching the murder instead of immediately running away. Great gore though.
