While visiting the dysfunctional family of his wife for Christmas, out-of-work pushover Carl is blackmailed into participating in a scheme to knock off their eccentric grandfather in order to get ahold of his $2.2 million fortune. The family is convinced the money can solve all of their problems, but their plot's success hinges on Carl overcoming his nebbish tendencies.
