Alfred Packer was a mountain guide and sole survivor of a party of pioneers that got lost in the mountains in winter. Accused and convicted of murdering and eating his travelling companions, he was to be executed by hanging. The movie begins at his trial, where he pleads his innocence to an unsympathetic audience. Only reporter Polly Pry will listen to his story, which is then related to the viewers in the form of flashbacks. As Packer and his gold-prospecting clients make their way through the forests and mountains, they encounter bemused Japanese Indians, an unimpressed group of mountain men and the brutal Rocky Mountain winter, all of which inspire the travelers to break out into song and dance. --IMDb

Alfred Packer is out with a couple of other fellows in a hunt for some gold. They have to journey across the country, and through some terrible weather. As they go further and further, they get more and more lost, and are on the verge of death. When one of the guys meets an untimely death, the remaining people decide to eat his body so that they can stay alive for a few more days... and with this, some of the guys want more flesh.

Instant classic. I'd seen the trailers for it quite some time ago, and it looked nice, but didn't think it would stay funny over the course of ninety minutes.... boy, was I mistaken. Loads of classic scenes....

Humphrey: You guys, I just thought of something, too.
Miller: What?
Humphrey: Okay, now remember when Swan was building that snowman?
Miners: Yeah
Humphrey: How the hell did he make that tapping sound with his feet?
Noon: You just now thought of that?
Humphrey: It's pretty fuckin' weird, isn't it?
Bell: Goddamnit, you fuckin' moron!

...some great songs (the Snowman one being my personal favorite), and tons of great one-liners made for one hell of a hilarious movie.

10/10 all around; if you're a fan of off-the-wall comedy, such as the little-known South Park show, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one.

Ha, yes, this is a great comedy! I like how the songs work into it all so well.
A definite classic.

LOL, this site has this listed as a horror film, but it's not scary, nor is it intended to be. It's just hilarious work by the guys who would eventually create a little show called South Park. You may have heard of it.
