Billed as France's first gore-film (I suppose everyone forgot about Zombie Lake, though I can't blame them), tonight's feature presentation centers around a trio of, well, living dead girls. Yes, there's only three of them to be found here, and coupled with the aforementioned Zombie Lake, this film shows us why France is definitely not known for their zombie films.

The storyline suffers from being both unintentionally comedic and from simply featuring too many ideas that could have been easily cut out. It all begins when a man decides to dump some sort of poison into a milk truck so that the entire supply becomes tainted before being delivered to a nearby town. This milk causes three (and only three) young ladies to die, which naturally prompts the police to start investigating. Their investigations lead them to a local factory where all three of the girls worked, and it seems obvious to them that the chemicals used in this factory were responsible for their deaths. This factory takes great pride in properly disposing of all of their chemicals, as the owner explains, and they couldn't possibly have caused this. This satisfies the police, and we then learn that "properly disposing" of the chemicals consists of dumping them in the local graveyard at night when nobody is around. We wouldn't have a zombie movie if these chemicals didn't do something to wake the dead, and the three milk maids are resurrected as a result. Throw in some preaching about environmental issues, corporate blackmailing, crooked secretaries, lots of meaningless sex, and you have but a few minutes left over for the zombie lasses to score a couple of kills.

Now, I've seen more than my fair share of zombie films. I've seen movies where the rising of the dead has been blamed on aliens, military chemicals, radio waves, voodoo, curses, and even watching a DVD. But turning into zombies thanks to drinking some poisoned milk? That has to be a new one, and although I must give it points for originality, I can't say that it was anything but funny (in a purely unintentional way). At this point in the review, you may be thinking to yourself that this is a campy film that would be best viewed with some beers, some friends, and a whole lot of MST3K-inspired ribbing at the expense of the on-screen events. That's what I thought when I saw the description, but sadly, it doesn't even live up to those standards. This one is just bad, folks.

However, the film did have something going for it, when it managed to stray away from the environmental issues and corporate bigwig nonsense. That something comes courtesy of the gore effects and the methods in which a few people meet their grisly demise. Now, I can't say that the gore was overly-realistic here, but I can say that there was a good deal of imagination put into these scenes. For example, we get to watch a woman die courtesy of a high-heeled stomp to the face, we're treated to a scene in which the trio of zombies suddenly turn into lesbians and decide to use a sword as a dildo on their living "lover", and we even get to witness a man lose his penis during a particularly violent blowjob courtesy of one of the undead. Indeed, the movie shines during the actual zombie scenes, but sadly, the zombie girls were a very small part of the overall package that was Revenge Of The Living Dead Girls.

Had this been a straight-forward zombie flick, it could have been one of those rare forgotten treasures that sometimes manages to find a home on DVD courtesy of some small-time distributor. However, it was decided that preaching environmental issues and showing how sleazy big corporations can be was more important than focusing on the undead, and thanks to that, this is definitely one to skip for all but the most diehard of zombie fans. 3/10.

"Zombies" kidnapped a woman, whilst stealing a car, fucked her, then stuck a sword up her cooch. Before that, they get to hide out in a pool and trick some dude to come outside, then drown his sorry ass! Come on, when will you ever see "zombies" do this madness again? Suppose I won't get into the ending, but such was also fantastic. Finding out what was really going on, then the nuking. It's wonderful to see a zombie film stray from "Shoot them in the head and they'll die! - AKA: Ninety percent of every zombie film ever made."
